Micom Systems’ Profit Up 164% as Revenue Rises 19%
Micom Systems, citing higher sales and previous cost-cutting, said its earnings rose 164% in the first quarter that ended June 30 to $3.7 million, or 19 cents a share. Revenue rose 19% to $59.1 million.
The Simi Valley company, which makes computer communications equipment, said sales were up substantially in its catalogue business and also in its local-area networking business. Local-area networks are in-house data-communications systems that link computers.
As previously reported, Micom has effectively been put up for sale following a dispute among directors over company strategy. But no sale agreements have been reached.
