Yardley’s NBA Exploits Have Not Been Forgotten

I was surprised and delighted to read an article (July 26) on George Yardley, a forgotten star of the NBA.

As a young man in Detroit in the late ‘50s, I remember a more startling statistic than the 2,001 points. He also scored 55 points in one game, which at that time was truly remarkable.
