Officials from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries confirmed that a meeting of the cartel’s price monitoring committee would be held Wednesday in Lausanne, Switzerland. The confirmation of the date, which had been tentatively set, came in the wake of a visit to the United Arab Emirates by OPEC Secretary-General Subroto. The five-nation price monitoring committee is made up of the oil ministers of Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Indonesia, Algeria and Venezuela.
