Armendariz Leads Glendale Victory
Angela Armendariz scored a game-high 19 points to lead Glendale to a 50-43 victory over Hanford in a first-round game of the Summer Hoop Finale at Bell-Jeff High on Saturday.
Armendariz’s 19 points tied her with Joni Easterly of Katella as the tournament’s high scorer Saturday.
The victory moves Glendale into a second-round game against fourth-seeded Washington today at 4 p.m.
In other first-round games, Alemany beat Burbank, 47-21, behind Andrea Hoffman’s 14 points; Hart defeated Redlands, 47-21, led by Sarah Wilson’s 15 points; and Fontana, powered by Tina Felt’s 18 points, beat Notre Dame, 29-19.
