Ozone Research
Bravo for Lanie Jones’ article (July 14) on Prof. F. Sherwood Rowland and the research being pursued in his laboratory at UC Irvine.
This great scientist and humanist has given us another chance to survive. Nobel Prize winners are chosen by select committees. The honor is bestowed upon a recipient for specific results that often touch a restricted percentage of the population.
Here we have results that benefit the whole living system: plants, animals, any human being regardless of its country, health or ethnic group.
If there was ever a Nobel prize awarded by popular demand, this should be the case. Let us have Prof. Rowland be the first Nobel Prize winner at UCI.
