LAPD Outpost for Highland Park
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Division has opened a community substation in a commercial building in Highland Park, its second outpost financed by contributions from local business owners.
The office, at 6130 York Blvd., will not be staffed for use by the public. Instead, it will be used by officers on patrol in the area, allowing them to write reports, interview suspects and witnesses and make telephone calls without having to return to the station on San Fernando Road, said Capt. Richard Wahler, commander of the Northeast patrol division.
Last year, a similar outpost opened on Hyperion Avenue in Silver Lake.
