Anti-Gun Control Drive Wins Spot on Ballot

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Gun control opponents have gathered enough signatures to force a referendum on Maryland’s new handgun control law in November, Secretary of State Winfield Kelly Jr. said today.
Legislation approved earlier this year bans the sale of cheap handguns and establishes a nine-member committee to decide what handguns may be manufactured and sold in the state.
