Prices Take the Fun Out of Festivities

I attended the recent Orange County Fiesta in Fountain Valley. I went with my mother and brother. We planned to have a snack and ride a few rides and look around. We felt a local carnival would be great for this. Boy, were we surprised.

First, we were charged $2 to park on grass! We couldn’t park on the street, so we were forced to pay the $2. The parking fee was not mentioned in the advertisement that was in the newspaper. Luckily, we had coupons to help cut the cost of the admission. Not that the cost is everything, but one ride ticket costs 50 cents, and each ride takes a minimum of two tickets. We saw a few interesting attractions, but we had already bought the tickets and didn’t have much money left. We really couldn’t believe it when the prices were being raised while we were at the fiesta. My brother’s three-minute ride on the bumper cars cost $2. We bought a soda, walked around for 15 minutes, then left.

My family will not be going to another Orange County Fiesta. You would need at least $30 just to enjoy it! Even if I have that, I would still be mad at the $2 parking and $2 rides.
