Coordination Called Key to Various Christian Plans to Evangelize World
RICHMOND, Ind. — More than 400 plans exist among various Christian organizations to evangelize the world by the end of this century, says a key figure in steps to coordinate the efforts.
The Rev. Thomas Wang, steering committee chairman of a consultation planned by the different groups for next January, says many of such past efforts have failed because of disorganization, isolation and competition.
“What’s happening now is very different,†he said at a program committee meeting at headquarters of one of the major groups, the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board, to plan an agenda for the world consultation.
“All of a sudden it seems many of God’s servants all over the world have begun to take the end of this century, not as a magical number, but as a target, a goal, a stimulation for world evangelism,†he said.
