Local News in Brief : No Poison Found in Tampered Cartons
- Share via
Tests of orange juice from three cartons that had threatening notes pinned to them with syringes last week found no poison and did little to help investigators identify the tamperer, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
“It doesn’t point to a suspect,” Detective Joel Price said.
The three cartons were discovered at an Alpha Beta and a Vons market in Woodland Hills and a Hughes store in Canoga Park. Tests of the juice found a non-poisonous substance in the carton from the Vons on Mulholland Drive, Lt. Fred Nixon said.
Nixon would not disclose what the substance was.
