U.S. Downing of Iran Air Flight 655
If I were the pilot of an airliner with 290 innocent souls aboard and saw a confrontation below me in the gulf, I wouldn’t zero in on it; I’d realize I had strayed off course and immediately veer off.
However, if I were on a kamikaze mission I’d behave exactly as the Iranian pilot did.
Let’s not start the breast-beating and pontificating. A war zone is a war zone and one enters it at one’s peril.
