Local News in Brief : Police Release Names of 2 Hurt in Shooting
Los Angeles police on Friday released the names of two of the five victims wounded in what may be a drug-related shooting.
After the shooting incident Thursday, Tyrone Gordon, 19, was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound in the leg, Detective Jim Gerardi said.
Donald Dryer, 21, was taken to San Fernando Community Hospital, where he was also treated for a bullet wound in the leg and released, Gerardi said.
The other three victims, whose names were not released, were still being treated for injuries at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills and Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley.
Police were still looking for two gunmen, who witnesses said sped away in a car soon after the 5:15 p.m. shooting outside the Van Nuys Peirce Park Apartments, a housing project in the 12700 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.
Police think the shooting resulted from a drug deal that went awry. Those shot are suspected of being gang members, they said.
