Local News in Brief : $200.1-Million Budget Approved in Burbank
The Burbank City Council has approved a $200.1-million city budget for the 1988-89 fiscal year, which begins Friday.
The budget, approved Tuesday, marks a 1.7% decrease from last year even though city services will remain at the same level and 18 new positions will be financed, said Sandi Henricks, the city’s budget administrator.
Henricks said the decrease was possible because the city managed to save money last year in several areas, including the Public Service Department.
