Orange High School Teacher Arrested on Student Sex Charge
An Orange High School dance teacher has been arrested for allegedly having sex with one of his 17-year-old female students, according to court records.
James Paradise of Santa Ana was charged in Central Orange County Municipal Court on Tuesday with five felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Bail was set at $25,000 for Paradise, 31. Arraignment is scheduled for July 8, according to court records.
Paradise allegedly had sex several times with one of his students between November and May, court records state.
After the student reported the incidents to police, they reportedly asked her to wear a hidden microphone to tape a conversation between her and Paradise, without his knowledge. The taped conversation led to the arrest.
Paradise has been a dance instructor and drill-team coach at Orange High School for two years.
