La Mirada : $12-Million Budget Adopted
The La Mirada City Council has adopted a $12.1-million 1988-89 city budget that virtually duplicates this year’s budget. A Redevelopment Agency budget of $3.9 million, $100,000 greater than this year’s, also was approved this week by a 4-0 vote. Councilman Art Leslie was absent.
Confronted with stagnant sales tax income and a loss of federal revenue sharing funds, the city is postponing park improvements and equipment replacements to maintain current spending levels. City officials are projecting revenues of about $13 million in the coming fiscal year, an income that would easily balance the budget.
