Beverly Hills : Development Limits Proposed
- Share via
The City Council has directed the city attorney to draft an interim ordinance that would temporarily limit development in the industrial area of the city.
The ordinance, which is expected to be presented to the City Council in two weeks, would allow only interior remodeling of existing structures. The proposed ordinance would allow exemptions for property owners who could show a financial hardship.
The area, just east of City Hall, is bounded by Civic Center Drive, Beverly Boulevard, Maple Drive and an alley north of Burton Way.
City staff is recommending the one-year ban to give the city time to complete a study of the area to determine future land uses, traffic impacts and possible development of a new city building for municipal services.
