Jon Borowiec, athletic director and tennis coach at Servite High School, has resigned his positions effective June 15 in order to pursue his master’s degree.
Borowiec, who has served as the school’s athletic director for the past two years and the varsity tennis coach for the past three, led the Friars to the Southern Section playoffs three times. The team finished as the runner-up to Dana Hills in the 4-A division in 1987.
Borowiec’s teams compiled a 50-13 record and won the Angelus League title this season. The Friars’ team of Jeff and Chris Belloli won doubles titles at the Southern Section individual playoffs and the Ojai Invitational.
Borowiec, who also taught Soviet politics at Servite, plans to study political science at the University of Arizona in the fall.
