Gorbachev Plans to Visit Britain Next Year

LONDON — Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev plans to visit Britain in the spring or summer of 1989, a government spokesman said Thursday.
The spokesman said Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher invited Gorbachev to Britain during an official visit to the Soviet Union last year.
