ART
It could be the shortest, best-attended art exhibit in history. Paintings depicting President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev shown in Moscow during the summit are slated to be displayed in Washington today for three hours. The artworks, by Louisiana artist George Rodrigue, made news when Soviet officials reportedly confiscated the oil paintings before re-hanging them, worried that the portrayal of Reagan as a cowboy--clad in Western-style garb astride a white horse--offended the President. Rodrigue’s press agent says the paintings will be shown in a House of Representatives office building. They are scheduled for exhibit this month at the Upstairs Gallery on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
