CAMPAIGN ’88 : Jackson Kin Arrested
The half-brother of Democratic presidential candidate Jesse Jackson was arrested in Greenville, S.C., and charged with hiring someone to attack a murder witness, police said Sunday.
Noah Robinson, 45, was arrested late Saturday night and charged with being an accessory to a felony, obstruction of justice, intimidating a witness and criminal conspiracy, according to Detective Keith Morton. He was released on bail Sunday night.
Morton said Robinson, a small businessman in Greenville who has also worked in Chicago, is suspected of hiring someone who slashed and stabbed Janice Denice Rosemond, a witness to the execution-style murder of a man who had worked for Robinson. The woman recovered.
Robinson and Jackson have the same father. Jackson, who has spoken frequently on the campaign trail of his beginnings, was born out of wedlock to a woman who had an affair with the candidate’s father, who was married at the time.
Jackson, campaigning in Los Angeles, said he knew nothing about the case and had no comment.
