An official of a company that wants to build a coal-fired co-generation plant in Hanford has resigned in the wake of a report that he was romantically involved with the city’s mayor. Andy Wales, who was project manager for GWF Power System’s proposal, had been placed on leave after a recent newspaper report concerning his relationship with Mayor Patt Rapozo during 1987 and 1988. The report said their relationship began shortly after the mayor joined in a 5-0 approval in April, 1987, of a negative declaration aimed at letting the plant be built without an environmental impact report.
