Dean R. O’Hare has been elected chairman and chief executive of the Chubb Corp., succeeding Henry U. Harder, 63, who is retiring. Harder continues to serve as a director. O’Hare, 45, previously was president. Richard D. Smith, 59, previously executive vice president, was elected president. Vice Chairman Percy Chubb III, Smith and O’Hare compose the executive office of the insurance and real estate firm.
