Girl, 15, Run Down by Car and Killed
A 15-year-old girl was run over and killed in Irwindale by a man who deliberately plowed his car into the victim after punching her, authorities said Saturday.
Emily Beeman of Valinda was pronounced dead late Friday night at the scene of the incident at 4900 Rivergrade Road, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Detta Roberts. A witness, whose name was not released, told investigators that Beeman had an argument with her killer after spending up to two hours with the unidentified man.
Family members and neighbors told police that Beeman knew the man, but did not identify him to them. Shortly after 11:30 p.m., the suspect struck Beeman during their argument and climbed into his car, gunned the engine and slammed into her in the street, the witness told authorities.
The witness told deputies the man was 25 to 35 years old, with short, black, curly hair and a mustache.
