Invited are catcher Jim Campanis and shortstop Bret Barberie of USC; catcher Brent Mayne of Cal State Fullerton; infielders Dave Hajek of Cal Poly Pomona and Bob Hamelin of Rancho Santiago College in Santa Ana, and outfielder Jim Buccheri of Golden West in Huntington Beach.
Other Southern Californians invited are Eddie Zosky of Whittier and Fresno State, and Robin Ventura of Santa Maria and Oklahoma State.
The trials will begin June 13 at the national team training facility in Millington, Tenn. The squad will be cut to 25 by June 21, with the final cut to a 20-man team in late July.
