Outrage Over Beating of an Elephant
This letter is to protest the inhumane treatment of the elephant.
All I can say is this “disciplining” sounds like it is out of the Stone Age. To beat any animal over the head repeatedly with wooden clubs or padded hooks or whatever certainly displays a gross lack of professionalism by trainers, plus a pitiful lack of administration hiring ability by higher-ups. (To say nothing of just plain human compassion for an animal suddenly terrified by confronting new and strange surroundings.)
Parents of the Los Angeles area and visitors, think long and well before you take yourselves and your children to such an establishment for pleasure.
