Four coaches of women’s sports teams at Santa Clara University have filed a Title IX complaint alleging discrimination within the school’s athletic department.
Under U.S. civil rights law as covered in Title IX, women’s sports programs must be treated the same as men’s sports programs.
The complaint alleges discriminatory practices involving sports budget allocations and coaches’ salaries, contract terms and working conditions.
