Local News in Brief : Lucille Ball Recovering

Comedienne Lucille Ball is recovering at home in Beverly Hills after a slight heart attack, her husband said.

“She didn’t have a stroke,” Gary Morton said Tuesday, dismissing reports that she had suffered a severe stroke. “Right now she’s recovered from a very slight heart attack. She’s doing super, sensational.”

The actress was up and around at the couple’s home, Morton said, adding that projects for his wife were on hold because of the prolonged Writers Guild of America strike.

Morton drove his 76-year-old wife to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on May 11 after she became ill at home. She underwent a complete physical and was released a few days later.
