Consumers’ confidence rebounded in April, suggesting consumer spending will remain strong in coming months, the Conference Board said. The business research organization said its index of consumer confidence rose to 114.6 in April from 112.7 in March, leaving it just below its level of 114.9 in February. The index peaked at 115.7 in September, the month before the stock market crash. That was its highest level in 15 years. The index is based on a monthly survey of 5,000 households.
