Your article “Wilson Prods His Rival By Backing L.A. Drilling Ban” (Part I, April 9) does a disservice to Lt. Gov. Leo T. McCarthy, who is currently campaigning for U.S. Senate on the Democratic ticket.
McCarthy has been a long-time supporter of No Oil and has been a major part of the battle to protect our coastline. He supported our position before the California Coastal Commission last year and the Los Angeles Board of Referred Powers this year.
While we welcome Republican Sen. Pete Wilson’s endorsement, we also want the public to know that McCarthy also supports coastal protection. The issue is truly bipartisan.
