Reagan Extends Nicaragua Bans

WASHINGTON — President Reagan today continued beyond May 1 the national emergency in dealing with Nicaragua, contending in a message to Congress that the actions and policies of the Sandinista government still “pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.” The effect is to continue the trade embargo invoked against the Marxist-led government.
