‘Plumbum, or a Dangerous Game’
U.S.S.R., 1987, 97 minutes
10:15 p.m. A young lad-turned-vigilante puts the finger on Moscow’s petty criminals in this dark Soviet comedy. A modern variation of the Morozov story--a teen-age martyr who accused his father of being a class enemy in the ‘30s--which views him as misguided, not a saint. More energetic than successful, the film ultimately becomes mired in strained symbolism.
