Positively Whitesnake

As a 43-year-old female heavy-metal fanatic (sorry about trashing those stereotypes), I found Robert Hilburn’s fill-in-the-blanks negative review of the Whitesnake concert so predictable (“Uninspiring Whitesnake Strikes Few Sparks at Forum,” April 9).
As usual, Hilburn didn’t get it: Some of us go to concerts to party (long live “macho excess” and “tasteless hedonism”!), not to wallow in outdated ‘60s “social relevance.”
To “headbangers,” metal is the true (pure) rock. (As Ace Frehley says, “some hear the drum and some never know.”)
