The problem these days for the Chatsworth High volleyball team isn’t beating West Valley League opponents. It’s getting up for them.
“When you play somebody you’ve already beaten, it’s hard to get psyched,” Coach Steve Berk said.
Chatsworth (11-2, 8-0 in league matches) was psyched enough Wednesday at Birmingham, stomping the Braves, 15-5, 15-4, 15-6. Erik Merkle and Mike Rosenthal each had 10 kills for Chatsworth.
In other boys’ volleyball:
Chaminade d. Bell-Jeff, 15-0, 15-2, 15-5--Chris Bruckner led Chaminade with 10 kills and Kevin Kravets had 21 assists in the Santa Fe League match at Bell-Jeff.
Sylmar d. Monroe, 15-8, 4-15, 8-15, 15-9, 15-11--Steve O’Connell had 16 kills to lead Sylmar (7-4, 4-4) in an East Valley League match at Monroe.
