Mecham Elected as a District GOP Delegate

PHOENIX — Ousted Gov. Evan Mecham won’t get a chance to reclaim the office in a recall election but has won another election--as a district delegate to the Arizona GOP convention on a slate pledged to Pat Robertson.
Mecham was chosen Wednesday night by fellow precinct committeemen as a district delegate to the May 14 state Republican convention. At that convention, delegates to the national presidential nominating convention will be selected.
