La Puente : Meeting on Toxic Waste

New regulations for handling hazardous waste will be outlined for small-business owners by Assemblywoman Sally Tanner (D-El Monte) and speakers from the state Department of Health Services and the county fire and health departments at 7:45 a.m. April 29 at the Swiss Park restaurant, 1905 Workman Mill Road, Whittier.
The program is sponsored by the Greater La Puente Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Western Insurance Marketing Corp. The cost is $5.
Tanner, who heads the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee, will discuss legislation that is before her committee. Other speakers will discuss the costs of complying with hazardous waste regulations and opportunities for businesses to reduce their waste.
