‘A Woman Is a Risky Bet--Six Orchestra Conductors’
Sweden, 1987, 80 minutes , 5:30 p.m. Christina Olofson’s documentary shows six women orchestra conductors--only three of whom (two Americans, one Russian) are very active--telling us of the glory of classical music, and the harsh struggle to overcome the male prejudices around it. Good, but in need of denser orchestration.
