Global Stamp

What a surprise to see the new 25-cent “E” stamp with a picture of the Earth. Global thinking has been an idea for many years. Is this a sign that our country has adopted the idea? It seems so when the previous symbol for the first-class mail stamp was the American flag.
Other signs of global thinking are the recognition that we must participate with other nations (the signing of the Montreal Treaty) to insure the stability of the ozone layer. And finally, sending a diplomat from the State Department to Central American to discuss resuming diplomatic relations with Nicaragua that were cut off in 1985. The global village is beginning to form.
