PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Redondo Trounces St. John Bosco, 10-0
There was no doubt in Coach Harry Jenkins’ mind that his Redondo Union High School baseball team would get its offense on track on Saturday night.
And when the Sea Hawks did get going, they exploded in a big way, scoring a 10-0 victory over visiting St. John Bosco in the quarterfinals of the Redondo/Palos Verdes Tournament.
Redondo sent 12 batters to the plate in the third inning, scoring six run on four hits and five walks.
Redondo banged out 12 hits, while pitcher Scott Davidson limited the Braves to just two and struck out 12. Davidson improved his record to 9-0. Redondo is 17-1. St. John Bosco fell to 9-5.
Henry Schelb’s three-run homer was the big blow in the third inning.
Dane McKay knocked in two runs with a double in the fourth.
