Evan Mecham has announced he will not fight his impeachment conviction or the cancellation of Arizona’s gubernatorial recall election but will remain politically active. “We would have to go to the Supreme Court of the U.S., and the legal costs make that prohibitive,” Mecham said on a Phoenix television program that is to be aired today.
