There Still Is Room in L.A. for the Clippers
- Share via
OK, so shoot me! I’m a Clipper season-ticket holder. Once again, the tattered and torn curtain is dropping on another dismal season. In a year filled with high hopes that turned to no hope, there were some flashes of brilliance, some glimmers for a bright future, some wonderful highs (wins over the Lakers and Pistons), and a whole bunch of real lows.
So, what am I to do? Run out and buy an arena football ticket? Not so fast. Have you noticed the Lakers coming down to earth as of late? Did you know that the now-powerful Central Division was nothing but a bunch of teams floundering (except Milwaukee).
Even when our patience with the Clippers wears thin, most of us hang on, fantasizing future playoff games and respectability. This city can easily support two NBA teams. But fair-weather fans and newspapers only hinder the Clippers’ chances of surviving.
