Police on foot, motorcycles and in a helicopter swarmed over a portion of Harbor Drive on Friday afternoon after an unidentified man shot at a San Diego police officer, police said.
Lt. R. W. Jones said the shot was fired at an officer in his patrol car about 5 p.m. on Harbor Drive, between Sigsbee and Crosby streets. All police could find was a set of footprints in the nearby Santa Fe equipment yard, through which the assailant apparently ran to escape.
