How to Sell Bruce

Say it ain’t so, Bruce!
But just how did the Springsteen tickets go on sale unannounced (“Brokers Say They Got Their Springsteen Tickets,” by Steve Hochman, April 12)?
Despite what Avalon Attractions’ Brian Murphy said, using the radio and relying on word of mouth is not the best method to announce ticket sales.
In addition, his other motive, to keep tickets out of the hands of those sharks, the brokers, obviously did not work. How else can he explain how one broker got 200 tickets for each show?
Is an internal investigation in order? Newspaper ads are the best method and give everybody--including the brokers--a chance to get tickets. Print and broadcast advertising weeks in advance of the show is the only way to go.
