Pittsburgh-based Koppers Co. complained in federal court that a group led by Brian Beazer had violated a judge’s order with a Wall Street Journal advertisement asking shareholders to become impatient with Koppers’ management, which has yet to act on a $60-per-share tender offer from the Beazer group, worth an estimated $1.7 billion. Koppers said the ad violates Judge Maurice Cohill’s April 6 temporary restraining order. The order bars the Beazer group from taking any actions “designed or intended to advance†the takeover or from taking any actions likely to do so.
