Local News in Brief : Airport : 2 Main Entrance Lanes Closed for Construction
Construction work will close two of four lanes of Airport Way North, the main entrance to John Wayne Airport from MacArthur Boulevard, today through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Two lanes of the road, one entering and the other exiting, will remain open.
The lanes will be closed for installation of electrical lines as part of the construction of a new terminal and parking structure at the airport. The new terminal is scheduled to open in April, 1990.
Airport officials advise allowing extra time to get to the airport while the lanes are closed or to use the Main Street parking lots across the San Diego Freeway, which serves the main terminal with a free shuttle bus.
