Irvine : Former British Leader to Speak at UCI Friday

Former British Prime Minister Harold Wilson will be the guest speaker Friday at a public lecture sponsored by UC Irvine’s Office of Arts and Lectures.
The lecture will be at 8 p.m. at South Coast Community Church, 5120 Bonita Canyon Road, Irvine.

Wilson, who was prime minister from 1964 to 1970 and again from 1974 to 1976, gained recognition when he headed several delegations to Moscow to negotiate Soviet-British trade pacts while a member of Parliament. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.
