Limits for Touring Tibet

Sharon Dirlam in “Tours & Cruises” (March 6) quoted from InnerAsia’s newsletter that individual travelers were no longer being allowed to travel to Tibet. We have found that this is not the case and that individual travelers are being allowed to enter the country if they meet certain provisions.
They must have paid for their trip outside of China, they must have an itinerary that includes sightseeing and they must possess a valid visa. Groups, as you noted, are unaffected as the above conditions are met automatically. This clarifies the situation as it stands today. Naturally, it could change at any moment, depending on the political situation.
