The newly opened Santa Margarita Catholic High School is planning an additional classroom building, and a $1.5-million “challenge” pledge by a Corona del Mar couple has greatly boosted construction prospects, Diocese of Orange officials said.
John Crean, president and chief executive officer of Fleetwood Enterprises, and his wife Donna have jointly pledged to match up to $1.5 million for the new classroom building, the diocese announced.
The Creans have said they will match, dollar for dollar, donations given to the school between March 21 and June 30. Santa Margarita Catholic High opened last fall in the new community of Rancho Santa Margarita in south Orange County.
