A key participant in the 16-year-old theft of more than $75 million in heroin and cocaine from the New York City Police Department, including drugs seized in the famed “French Connection” case, has been arrested, officials said. U.S. Atty. Andrew Maloney said the Feb. 10 arrest in Florida of Anthony Passero, 34, could help federal authorities close the books on the yet-unsolved theft of 398 pounds of heroin and 128 pounds of cocaine.
