Local News in Brief : Drug Resolution Fails
- Share via
Redondo Beach Councilman Archie Snow failed Tuesday to garner support for a city resolution recommending the death penalty for convicted drug dealers.
Snow had proposed that the city forward an approved resolution to representatives in the Senate and Congress, “asking that the federal government adopt similar laws.”
“People guilty of killing our kids are not worthy of living,” Snow said Tuesday.
The council modified the measure at the suggestion of Mayor Barbara Doerr, recommending that “the strictest of penalties” be imposed on convicted drug dealers.
