NBC Tops Ratings; CBS Poor 3rd

NEW YORK — NBC won another week of the ratings race last week, while ABC took second place and CBS was faced with a Tuesday night massacre, according to Nielsen figures released today.
For the week ending March 27, NBC led with a 15.3 rating followed by ABC with a 12.9 rating and CBS with 12.6. CBS can blame its third-place showing on its Tuesday night lineup: On the bottom of the ratings list the last four shows were on CBS in the 8-10 p.m. time block, “Coming of Age,” “Frank’s Place,” “My Sister Sam” and--in 70th and final place--”Trial and Error.” The unlucky show to follow that ratings disaster is “Cagney & Lacey,” which was in 51st place.
